HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It’ll be a sunny day all across the area. I cold start to the morning will end up being a chilly, below average day. High temperatures will range from the lower 430s northeast to near 40° in North Central Kansas. Winds might be a bit breezy around the middle of the day in Eastern Nebraska as they’ll be out of the west northwest. Later in the day, those winds will die down and we’ll see some increasing winds out west. Overnight, there may be a few passing thin clouds on an otherwise mostly clear night. Winds will increase out of the south as the night goes on. While low temperatures will be between the mid 10s and the mid 20s, it should be a bit warmer by sunrise Thursday due to those stronger winds. Thursday will end up being a bit of a windy day...especially for those in Eastern Nebraska. Those winds of 15 to 30 mph will make it feel colder. Parts of Eastern Nebraska could see gusts up to 45 mph. High temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 40s northeast to the upper 50s southwest. Winds will remain breezy Thursday night and we’ll see increasing clouds after midnight. It won’t be terribly cold overnight with lows in the mid 20s to mid 30s.

Friday will be an interesting day as a cold front will be pushing southeast through the area sometime between Friday and Friday evening. The timing of the cold front will be vital. Expect mild temperatures with somewhat strong southwest winds ahead of the front. Behind the front it will be much colder with some very strong northwesterly winds. Highs could have as much of a range as the lower 30s northwest to the upper 60s southeast.

For the weekend, temperatures will be cooler on Saturday, but will warm up a little bit on Sunday. Temperatures will then start to come back down again early next week with another cold front pushing through the area. While it will start to get colder again Monday into Tuesday, the chance for much precipitation is starting to look much lower for those two days.
