HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Since March of this year, Coach’s Corner has been partnering with local nonprofits to raise money for their organizations on Mondays.

The gas station gives 5 cents of every gallon of fuel bought to the organization, for them to do as they wish.

This Monday, Coach’s Corner partnered with the Hastings Salvation Army, as they continue to push towards their goal in their Red Kettle campaign.

“Anytime you can get a new source of income coming in to help you hit the kettle goal, it is great,” said Major Dale Brandenburg. “We don’t know how much it’s gonna be, but whatever it is we’ll put it in one of the other pots and add it together and it all comes together and at the end of they year we usually hit our goal.”

The fundraiser is for one day only, but the impact it has on the organization is tremendous.

“The proceeds that come in through our kettle season stays 100% here in Hastings. It’s the funds that we use for our Social Services office, for the lady that works in that office, so that we can help people with their rent, utilities, and food. What we call the necessities of life,” explained Brandenburg.

This is the 23rd Monday Coach’s Corner has done this partnership. They also have a “Purple Pump” that has been donating 1 cent of every gallon to the Hastings YMCA, since the beginning of the year. That fundraiser runs until the end of December.
