GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce held their annual “Legislative Kickoff” this morning at the First National Bank.

The kickoff allowed constituents of senators Ray Aguilar, Tom Briese, Steve Halloran, Loren Lippincott, and John Lowe to hear what each senator had to say about the upcoming Nebraska legislative session.

Several questions were brought up about the new minimum wage, public school funding, and taxes, all of which were taken on by the senators.

“It gives us as senators, and the governor, a chance to visit directly with the constituents. Most importantly, I look forward to questions from the group,” said Halloran.

The next legislative session for Nebraska begins on January 4th.
