LINCOLN, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska Legislature started by swearing in 18 new senators effectively starting their terms in office.

One of them was Senator Loren Lippincott from District 34, which contains parts of Hall and Hamilton counties. Wednesday’s events acted as a kind of full circle moment for the new senator from Central City, as he was a page during his college years.

Lippincott said he’s also ready to get to work on the big issues facing Nebraska.

“I am very much a support for pro-life issues,” Senator Lippincott said. “Pro-life from conception to natural death. Then the other thing that was addressed during this past election and that is voter ID, and I feel that is very very important for us now to figure out how exactly how that is going to be played out.”

Lippincott also told Local4 News he looks forward to working with the state school board, and its new members.
