While still frigid this morning, milder weather is just around the corner
February 3, 2023 Morning Forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Much of the area spent last night with clear skies and it was quite cold again because of it. Some low clouds and fog have been drifting from western into central parts of the area as a warm front slowly drifts eastward into Central Nebraska and North Central Kansas. Some of those clouds will stick around this morning, but will clear up later this morning and into this afternoon. Eastern areas will stay fairly sunny today. The same goes for those out west. High temperatures will range from the mid/upper 20s northeast to the lower 40s west. Highs for those in the middle will be highly dependent on how long the clouds last. Winds will be breezy out of the south today at 10 to 20 mph with some gusts to 25 mph. Clouds will be back on the increase overnight and some areas of fog will be possible. With the warm front continuing to move east and out of the area, it won’t be nearly as cold tonight. Most will see lows in the 20s. Some of those clouds will gradually clear through the day Saturday as warmer temperatures build in. Highs will range from the mid/upper 30s north to the upper 40s southeast. Winds will again be breezy, but this time out of the west and then the northwest. Saturday night will be mostly clear and quiet with lows back in the 20s again. Sunday won’t be nearly as breezy and it’ll be another mild one with highs from the mid/upper 30s north to around 50° southeast.
A few clouds may be around, but it’s looking mainly dry Monday. Highs will range from the upper 30s north to the lower 50s southeast. There should be a bit more sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday and the mild temperatures will continue. It may be a touch cooler on Tuesday with highs in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s. Wednesday will be a bit milder from the upper 30s northeast to the lower 50s in many locations. Wednesday night into Thursday, a disturbance may bring some showers to Eastern Nebraska, but it should be dry farther west from there. Temperatures may trend down a little toward the end of next week.
