LINCOLN, Neb. (KSNB) - The NSAA Class C1 state girls basketball championship game was played at Pinnacle Bank Arena Saturday. No. 3 Adams Central took on top-seed North Bend Central.

The Tigers were the three-time defending champions, while the Patriots hadn’t played in a state title game since 1995. NBC defeated Adams Central 45-28 to claim its fourth straight championship, ending the Patriots season with a 26-2 record.

“It was pretty special,” Adams Central coach Evan Smith said. “We’ve had a pretty incredible year with a conference championship win and a lot of big-game wins, but getting to the state championship game, obviously, is huge for our program and for our community. These kids are going to move on from the sport and go out and be leaders in our communities and they’re just unbelievable kids and I’m just so happy for them.”
