Shelton boys basketball unable to dethrone defending D2 champs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KSNB) - The semifinal round of the NSAA Class D2 state boys basketball tournament began in Lincoln Friday. No. 2 Shelton took on No. 3 Parkview Christian, the reigning state champions in the class.
The Bulldogs kept it close early, trailing by single digits at halftime. However, the Patriots’ offense exploded in the second half and they advanced to the Class D2 championship in an 86-57 win.
Shelton will play in the Class D2 third-place game Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at Lincoln Southeast.
