Grand Island Fire Department responds to overnight business fire

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Fire Department is on the scene of a two-alarm business fire in Grand Island.

According to Grand Island Fire Department’s Battalion Chief Phil Thomas, the fire started just after 9:30 p.m. Monday night at Double Line Auto Repair in the 3700 block of West 2nd Street.

When fire crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the rooftop of the business. Crews worked all night to put out the fire and were monitoring for hot spots Tuesday morning.

The business is a total loss.

There are no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
