HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Skies will clear sending temperatures tumbling, as we begin the final weekend of the winter season. Saturday will start the day with morning lows in the teens.

Wind chills in the morning will feel below zero and over northern areas, the ‘feels like’ temperatures could be as low a 10 below. There will not be much of a rally heading into the afternoon as some cloudiness builds over the eastern half of the state, keeping temperatures in the upper 20s with some lower 30s close to the Kansas line.

Northwest winds, gusting to 35 mph will make it feel like the lower teens for much of the afternoon. Skies will clear late afternoon into the evening hours, as high pressure builds south. It will be another cold night Saturday night into early Sunday with temperatures dropping into the lower teens, but winds will switch to the west.

Sunday Morning
Sunday Morning(KSNB)

Sunday will be an about face as winds turn southwesterly, and with more sunshine, we should salvage the weekend with a temperature turnaround as highs climb into the mid to upper 40s. Next week will turn increasingly warmer to coincide with the arrival of the spring season on Monday. High temperatures will warm into the 50s and 60s with Tuesday being the peak day. An upper level trough will produce rain chances from Tuesday night into Thursday night.
