Closing out the weekend with much warmer temps
March 18, 2023
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After a chilly and breezy day today, temperatures will quickly warm up into the 50s to close out the weekend. Before we get to those spring time temperatures tomorrow afternoon we will have to contend with one more frigid morning as high pressure settles in overhead allowing for light winds and clear skies. Lows tomorrow morning will bottom out in the single digits north and teens elsewhere. Tomorrow will be the better half of the weekend with a lot more sunshine. Although winds will be light overnight, the winds pick up again tomorrow. This time being out of the south which will help to warm things up quickly by the afternoon. Highs will be closer to normal for mid March in the upper 40s north to low-mid 50s south.
The first day of spring arrives Monday and it looks like Mother Nature got the memo as it will be a mostly sunny day with highs once again in the 50s. Our first chance at some precipitation comes Tuesday morning as a system moves through the region. Thankfully, this will be in the form of rain as temperatures will be above freezing. Milder temperatures, breezy conditions and a few other rain chances through the rest of the week as we remain in a semi-messy weather pattern. The good news is that we shouldn’t see any wintry precipitation as temperatures remain above freezing through next weekend. While it’s still rather early, there are signs that we could see a much stronger system next weekend which could bring some heavier rain and possibly a few storms.
