Cooler, cloudy with a chance of rain

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Early spring can bring precipitation and there are several opportunities for rain through the week. Tuesday an mid level disturbance will move through the Northern Plains as a warm front advances from south to north. The disturbance could bring a wintry mix to the Sandhills and north central areas that could lay down a light icy glaze. Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for those areas for slippery roads.

For most of the Local 4 area it will be mostly cloudy and a bit cooler than Monday, with temperatures in the 50s. There is a slight chance for a rain shower for areas mainly north of I-80.

The best chance for precipitation will come Wednesday night as a cold front drops through the area. Some light snow mixing with rain or freezing rain will be possible, but minor accumulations, if any, are expected and the impact should be minimal. Highs on Wednesday will range from upper 40s to around 50 in north central areas to the the 50s and 60s into Kansas. Thursday will be a bit cooler behind the front, with addition chances for precipitation on Friday night, Saturday with more widepread precipitation in the form of rain and snow on Sunday.
