Kearney art gallery hosts ‘Crane Dance’ art show
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A local art gallery is adding a different element to crane season. The Brickwalk Galley is holding its second annual ‘Crane Dance” art show. The goal is to offer people a chance to see artwork from artist from all over the state; providing them views of the crane migration.
The art gallery itself started two years ago in effort to bring a more vibrant art scene to Kearney. Officials said this is an opportunity to do something unique and creative.
“We’re really looking for different opportunities and you know events that will bring people to the gallery,” said Jesse Jacobs, Owner of the Brickwalk. “We thought that offering a crane display would be unique and get people from all over the country to come down here, check out our space, learn more about the project and what we have going on.”
Jacobs said the art gallery provides an additional activity for visitors.
“Well it gives people an opportunity to go do something,” Jacobs said. “You know they wakeup in the mourning and they go look at the cranes as they you know take off, and then in the evenings they go out and watch the cranes comeback in. While this gives them something during the day you know.”
Jacobs said this gives people another place to view cranes and experience downtown Kearney, because most visitors come from outside of Nebraska.
