Winter throws another bout of snow tomorrow for some
March 26, 2023 - Overnight forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - There were some impressive snow totals from last night’s storm system that had adequate energy to create a narrow swath of 4 to 10 inches of snow. The higher amounts of 10 inches fell around the Saint Paul area with smaller amounts south with Hastings seeing 1.8 inches. As for the overnight tonight, increasing clouds ahead of our next system with lows in the 20s. Winds will be light out of the north between 3 and 8 mph.
Our next, a much weaker, system will bring another chance of cold rain and some snow tomorrow. It will also be another chilly day. The heavier snow totals will be mainly confined to areas in the southwestern part of the state where you could see anywhere from 4 to 6 inches. Further east in the Tri-Cities we will at best see a dusting. Highs will mostly be in the upper 30s to the upper 40s. Tuesday will again be a day with highs in the 40s, but there may be more sunshine. We’ll get a bit of a temperature bump on Wednesday, but it won’t last long. Highs on Wednesday will range from the mid 40s north to the lower 60s south. A stronger storm system will push into the region Thursday and Friday which may bring a chance of rain, thunderstorms (some may be strong to severe), and possibly some snow. It will also get chillier again for a couple of days. We dry out going into next weekend with a warming of temperatures. Highs next weekend may find their way into the 70s by Sunday.
