GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Two Hall County nonprofits are teaming up for a fun event for the 10th annual Go Big Give event.

The Business Coalition for Veterans and the Grand Generation Center are coming together for a ‘50s Sock Hop fundraiser as well as a bake sale.

This is BCVs fifth time participating in Go Big Give, the 24-hour fundraising event, while it’s Grand Generation Center’s first time.

BCV Founder Chef Anthony Brando said they have partnered together a couple of years ago to honor veterans and thought this was the perfect chance to do it again.

“It’s an opportunity for people to remember what it was like back then,” Brando said.

For people attending this event, they’ll get to enjoy food, live entertainment, a retro photo backdrop, raffle and more.

Brando said all are welcomed to come to this even, young to old and families too.

Tickets are $10 and with that ticket, you’ll receive five food vouchers.

The two nonprofits will split the proceeds in half.

Brando said having the pre-give window available has helped his nonprofit tremendously.

He said they can’t compete with the bigger ones on Go Big Give day but being able to do something ahead of time has helped.

The event is set for Friday, April 28 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A bake sale will also be taking place at the same time. If anyone would like to donate goodies for the sale, you can drop them off in the morning from 8 a.m. to noon.
