OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - Boone Central’s Jack Roberts entered the 2023 State Track & Field Championships as the defending 300M Hurdles champion in Class B, and defend it he did.

He won the event with a time of 38.05 seconds to become a back-to-back champion. It’s also the third-straight gold medal in this event from the school perspective at Boone Central.

“I knew it was going to be really tough,” Roberts said. There’s 5 of us in the finals that are sub-:39, and that’s pretty unheard of. I was going to be happy with 2nd, and in a field like this, we can’t be mad about getting 2nd in a race like this, we knew it would be fast, and I saw that and couldn’t believe it.”
