OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) - Just a day after winning the Class B Boys Triple Jump, Aurora’s Carsen Staehr earned another gold medal.
This time, it’s in the Class B Boys Long Jump, which he won with a leap of 23′ 1/4″. It was good enough to edge out the defending champ in the event - McCook’s Adam Dugger.
”I really wanted it last year, and I fell short so one of the goals was to get down here and hopefully win it,” Staehr said. “I think after the first finals jump, once I saw the 22, I was like ‘okay, now I’m kind of relaxed.’ I’m feeling it a little bit, and that’s what I’m shooting for is consistent 23′s, so that’s what I was really looking for today.”
