HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Little change to the forecast is expected today compared to what we had yesterday. There is still plenty of smoky haze overhead, filtering out the sunshine a bit. Skies to day will be mostly sunny for most with a few becoming partly cloudy. High temperatures later today will reach the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. Winds won’t be terribly strong out of the south at 5 to 15 mph. It’ll remain mostly clear tonight with lows mostly in the 50s. Tomorrow looks very much like a repeat of today, although isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow afternoon and evening in western parts of our area. Once again, expect highs in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. Lows tomorrow night will dip back into the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s Thursday morning.

On Thursday, chances for showers and thunderstorms will return to most of the area. While a slight chance comes in the morning, a better chance will come in the afternoon and evening. Thursday will be the best chance for most of the area this week. After that, chances will remain in the forecast through the end of the week, but the focus for the best chance will be in western and southwestern portions of the area. This will continue into the holiday weekend. So a more active weather pattern is expected to return, but this is not a guarantee for all areas to get rain. Meanwhile, the warm temperatures will continue with a blend of 70s and 80s. The cooler temperatures will likely be in the west with the better chance of rain. Winds will also be breezy from Thursday all the way through the weekend.
