GIPD investigating incident near Fonner Park, one person in serious condition

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police shut down part of Stuhr Road between Fonner Park and Stolley Park to investigate an injury accident Tuesday.
According to GIPD, a 35-year-old person jumped out of a moving vehicle while traveling on the road. They have since been hospitalized and is currently in serious condition.
Police say the driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody for driving under the influence.
The scene has since been cleared and the detour lifted.
