Hastings Community Theatre presents ‘Glorious!’
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings Community Theatre ends its 63rd season with ‘Glorious!: The True Story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the Worst Singer in the World’.
‘Glorious!’ is the story of Florence Foster Jenkins. She is a larger-than-life performer with commitment and drive but lacks one thing…. talent. Not one to be dissuaded by such trifles, and encouraged by her equally eccentric friends, she sets her sights on a nail-biting performance at none other than Carnegie Hall. Come enjoy this hilarious, inspiring true-story, and find yourself cheering for the underdog who, while many can say couldn’t sing, none can say she DIDN’T sing!
Show dates for ‘Glorious!’ will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday on June 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Hastings Community Theatre is located in the Good Samaritan Village, 515 S 4th Ave, Hastings. Tickets are $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students. Tickets are currently available online here. Tickets will also be available at the door on performance nights until sold out.
‘Glorious!’ is directed by Berice Rosenberg, who has most recently directed ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ in January. Jeff Sokol will be joining Berice as Assistant Director. Jeff has been an actor with HCT, up to this point, with his last role being the D’Ysquith Family in April’s ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder’. They are both excited to be directing this cast of ‘Glorious!’ containing talented actors, all veterans from various shows throughout the years at HCT. Amy Harris, Dustin Velasquez, and Amanda Cargile, were last on stage with HCT in, again, April’s ‘A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder’. Jake Elting & Cristi Eaglefeather Moreno were also last seen in Berice’s ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ in January. Berice Rosenberg, in addition to directing, will also make an appearance on the stage for this performance.
