Daily thunderstorm chances through next week..
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Active thunderstorms in Kansas will track across the state line into Southwest and South Central Nebraska this evening. A few of these storms could reach marginally strong to severe thresholds with the main threats of quarter sized hail and 50 to 60 mph winds. Some of these storm could also produce some heavy downpours if they come together and slow down. A few small pockets could produce 2 to 3 inch amounts through late this evening. Flash flooding could be concern and will need to be monitored, especially for the Republican River near the Orleans and Cambridge areas.
Much of Memorial Day looks to be dry with south winds 10-15 and temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
There is a potential for some thunderstorms to move into the Lexington-Holdrege-Kearney areas in the evening hours but the severe threat looks low. Beyond Monday, this weather pattern will continue to provide to provide at least a small chance for rain each day with temperatures remaining in the low to mid 80s. A weather system will emerge from the 4 corners pushing into Northeast Colorado. That may elevate our rain potential late next week.
