Kearney Catholic’s Dunham putts first in Top 5 Plays

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The first edition of our Top 5 Plays since the end of the high school sports season features Independence League baseball, legion baseball, NSAA state boys golf and NCAA track & field.

  1. Kearney Catholic boys golf’s Jackson Dunham won the Class C state individual title after shooting a +5 through 36 holes at Elks Country Club in Columbus.
  2. UNK’s Wes Ferguson won his third 800-meter national title in 1:45.46 at DII nationals, giving him the second-fastest time in college athletics for the event this year — regardless of division.
  3. Hastings Five Points Bank baseball’s Cameron Brumbaugh scored a run using smart base-running on a called strike three that was tipped by Jaxen Gangwish.
  4. GICC boys golf’s Bowdie Fox finished as the Class C state individual runner-up after shooting a +8 through 36 holes at Elks Country Club.
  5. Hastings Sodbusters pitcher Fred Juden struck out the beer batter of the night against the Fremont Moo.
