Grand Island woman charged with stabbing husband multiple times, injuring a juvenile

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island woman is facing multiple charges after police say she stabbed her husband multiple times and injured a juvenile.

Grand Island Police said the incident happened in the 400 block of South Cherry Street just after midnight Tuesday morning.

Police were called to CHI Health St. Francis for a stabbing victim. Police say the 29-year-old male had stab wounds from a kitchen knife to his left clavicle, inner knee, and a puncture to his lung.

GIPD said 33-year-old Isabel Sanchez-Vega admitted to stabbing her husband, and also admitted to hitting a 13-year-old female in the face with her phone, breaking the juveniles nose.

Sanchez-Vega was arrested for first degree domestic assault, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and intentional child abuse, among others.
