The very warm temperatures continue and so do the chances of pop-up thunderstorms
June 6, 2023 Morning Forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Today will be a very similar day to yesterday with very warm temperatures and winds that will mainly be under 10 mph. There will be plenty of sun in the morning with a few pop-up thundershowers during the afternoon and early evening. Those showers should dissipate by around sunset and much of the night will be fairly quiet and mostly clear. Highs today will range from the lower 80s west to the lower 90s east. We’ll see lows tonight in the mid to upper 50s and low to mid 60s. Tomorrow will be somewhat similar to today, but it will be slightly warmer for most. Highs will be in the low/mid 80s west with upper 80s and lower 90s for the rest of the area. There is again a small chance of afternoon and early evening pop-up thundershowers. One difference is a backdoor cold front moving into Eastern Nebraska. This could actually help set off a couple of stronger thunderstorms capable of large hail and severe wind gusts. On Thursday, that chance will actually shift a bit more to the west as the front stalls out and eventually washes out over the middle of the area. This will bring a slightly better chance for rain and thunderstorms by the afternoon and evening. The chance gets a little bit better yet on Friday. On Saturday, another cold front will dive south through the area, bring most of us our best chance of rain and thunderstorms. It is currently looking like the front will push south of the area for Sunday, so dry weather is anticipated. It looks to stay dry again Monday before rain and thunderstorm chances return by Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be a weekend cool-down before temperatures start to warm back up next week.
