Hastings Police Department celebrates promotion of officers

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings Police Department celebrated the recent promotion of four officers.

Tony Burnett, Ethan Sharman, Jason Haase and Nathan Hanson were promoted on May 21. The celebration took place on June 6. Burnett and Sharman’s new roles will be Corporal.

Corporal Burnett has served almost six years with HPD. He is an Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor and a member of the Tactical Response Team.

Ethan Sharman has been promoted to Corporal for the Hastings Police Department.

Corporal Sharman has been with HPD for five years. He is a Field Training Officer, Tac-Med Instructor, Drone and Robot Operator as well as a member of the Tactical Response Team as well.

Haase and Hanson’s celebration took place on June 1. Haase was promoted to Captain while Hanson was promoted to Sergeant.

Sergeant Hanson has been with HPD for seven years. Since 2019 he had served as Corporal for the department. His other roles include an Instructor and Tactical Response Team Member.

Jason Haase has been promoted to Captain for the Hastings Police Department.

Captain Haase has provided service for HPD for 14 years. He served as a Sergeant since 2017. The HPD veteran is also an instructor, participates in committees and oversees various projects.
