Kearney Public Library hosts History Brown Bag lunch

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney Public Library and the UNK History Department will be hosting a lunch event as part of the History Brown Bag series.
The meal will be served June 14 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
In 1917, Nebraska had 7,000 one-room school houses and by 1984 the number of elementary education offered by school districts decreased down to 666. University Archivist, Digital Repository Manager and Associate Professor Laurinda Weisse at UNK will present on Nebraska’s rural schools.
The program is free and open to anyone who would like to attend. All attendees need to do is bring a lunch and get ready to learn.
The next History Brown Bag event will be July 12.
