We’ll feel the heat today with better chances of rain are returning soon
June 7, 2023 Morning Forecast
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Today will likely be the hottest day for most of us as temperatures rise to between the mid 80s west and the mid 90s east. Most of us will see plenty of sunshine. There is the smallest of chances of a couple of pop-up thundershowers this afternoon, but the vast majority of the area will remain dry. The best chance of thunderstorms will be over far Eastern Nebraska where a quasi-stationary front (very slow moving cold front) will move in from the northeast. Isolated severe weather is possible, but should mainly be just outside of the Local4 viewing area. That front will slowly shift back to the west tonight, pushing toward Central Nebraska by tomorrow morning. To the east of that boundary, a few weaker showers and thunderstorms will be possible overnight. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the upper 50s and low to mid 60s.
With the boundary in central areas on Thursday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms returns tomorrow afternoon. The chance will remain tomorrow night, but will be a little lower. The chance of showers and thunderstorms looks even better on Friday. Temperatures will still be very warm, but will come down a few degrees for the end of the week. The best chance for showers and thunderstorms will come Saturday into Saturday night as a cold front dives southward through the area. Temperatures will be a bit cooler yet with the clouds and showers around. Some showers may linger into Sunday, mainly across the south as the front continues to push south of our area. Sunday’s high temperatures will be mainly in the 70s around the area. Monday looks to remain dry for most, but there could be some showers and thunderstorms out west. The chance will get better Tuesday. More chances of showers and thunderstorms are expected next week. Temperatures will be climbing back up through the week and will eventually get back up well into the 80s.
