Sharing the rain...
A better outlook for more widespread coverage...
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Most of the rain chances have been pretty much hit and miss impacting only the select few. But the next couple of days a couple of weather features may allow nature to ‘share the wealth’ a little bit more. Friday an upper level disturbance and a stalled frontal boundry will collaborate to trigger showers and thunderstorms during the day and into the evening.
There will be some instability to work with so a few of the storms could produce some gusty winds, small hail and locally heavy rainfall. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s.
Saturday a cold front will slide south out of South Dakota bringing the best chance for more widespread rain to the area. Again a few storms could become marginally severe, and there is a slight risk over South Central Nebraska of excessive rainfall, but as dry as it is it’s not likely there will be any problems but it will have to be watched. In the wake of the front, Sunday and Monday’s temperatures will cool into the mid to upper 70s respectively. There is a slight chance of a lingering shower Sunday morning but things should mainly be dry both days. Thunderstorms chances reemerge toward the middle of next week.
