HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - After showers and storms this evening in southwest parts of the area, things will dry out and remain dry through for the rest of the weekend. Tonight will be another chilly night by July standards with lows once again falling into the 50s. After a very cool start, Sunday will be warmer with a lot more sunshine. While there is a slight chance of an isolated shower or storm out west tomorrow afternoon, the general consensus is dry and mild for the day tomorrow. Look for highs to be closer to average in the low to mid 80s.

If you are looking for the summer time temperatures, they will be easy to find both Monday and Tuesday as highs return to the low to mid 90s ahead of our next cold front that will move through mid week. Better shower and storm chances return Monday afternoon and evening along with the threat of severe weather. There is a slight risk for severe storms Monday. What this means is there are isolated to scattered severe storms expected. The primary threats look to be large hail and damaging wind gusts along with locally heavy rainfall. Just a heads up if you have any outdoor plans for Monday afternoon and evening.

While temperatures heat up to start the week, it will be brief as after Tuesday day time highs come down just a little back to the low to mid 80s. Shower and storm chances continue each evening and night through the week. Those chances will be lower during the daytime hours.
