Increasing clouds overnight will lead to mostly cloudy skies tomorrow with a chance of sprinkles

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Mostly clear skies and seasonably cool temperatures today made for a great day to head to the Nebraska State Fair. While it was slightly warmer today than yesterday, with a drier air mass in place you didn’t have to worry about feeling unpleasant while out in the sun. While we will continue to have clear skies this evening, the clouds will begin to creep in overnight from the west due to a low pressure trough that will be moving through the region during the day tomorrow. Lows tonight will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. As the trough pushes through tomorrow there will be a slight chance of an isolated shower or possible thunderstorm. The best chance for any thunderstorm activity will be west of highway 281. It will be a mostly cloudy day with near average temperatures as highs top off in the low to mid 80s.

The clouds disperse going into tomorrow evening and overnight. The sun along with dry conditions return Tuesday. Temperatures gradually rise through the week going into Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the temperatures in the 80s through mid week because after that the sultry summer heat returns. Highs by next weekend will soar into the mid to upper 90s with possible 100s making a return by next Sunday. Don’t close the pools just yet. You may need to jump in it to cool off next weekend.
