‘End goal is win’: UNK football’s Davis unconcerned with personal preseason hype
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Nebraska-Kearney football begins its 2023 season Thursday on the road at Central Oklahoma. Senior quarterback TJ Davis was listed by NCAA.com as a player to watch for the Harlon Hill Trophy, DII’s Player of the Year.
At the beginning of fall camp, Davis said his main concern is to get the Lopers to a championship caliber program before his eligibility expires. His goals remain unhanged, despite the hype surrounding his own success.
“I’m not worried about nothing,” Davis said. “I’m trying to win, that’s it. The end goal is win. I love playing with the guys I play with. That’s one of the biggest things as to why I stayed, for my brothers. We still haven’t won yet, that’s on my mind. I can’t leave without a championship, that’s what I’m trying to do.”
UNK takes on UCO Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in Edmond, Oklahoma.
