Kearney Police increase efforts to find impaired drivers

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Kearney Police Department took part in the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled law enforcement campaign from Aug. 16 to Sept. 4.
Kearney officers concentrated their efforts on enforcing laws related to alcohol violations, including Minor in Possession and Driving under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs.
During this time period, KPD made the following arrests:
- 15 arrests for DUI-Alcohol
- 1 arrest for DUI-Drugs
- 5 arrests for Minor in Possession of Alcohol
- 3 felony arrests
- 2 fugitives apprehended
The enforcement was funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
