HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Not too warm...not too cool. This span of mild late summer weather will continue through the weekend. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a few fair weather clouds, with slightly warmer temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Thursday should be dry during the day with temperatures again in the mid to upper 70s, but there will be more cloud cover as showers and thunderstorms develop during the day from southwest to northeast areas of the state in conjunction with an approaching cold front. Rain will push into the Tri-cities during the evening. There isn’t much instability and severe weather is not anticipated.

The best chances for rain is over the next 7 days will occur on Friday possibly carrying over into the early evening which could impact the start of some high school games. There is a small chance of some showers lingering into early Saturday, but he rain shouldn’t impact the kickoff of the Husker game in Lincoln. Temperatures will get kickstarted from Sunday into next week with highs pushing back into the 80s.
