Hastings College’s Escalera named GPAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hastings College junior Gabe Escalera earned his second career GPAC Men’s Golfer of the Week nod when the conference announced its winner Wednesday.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following golfers-of-the-week for September 4-10, 2023. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2023-2024 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Golfers-of-the-Week

Men – Gabe Escalera, Hastings CollegeGabe Escalera of Hastings College is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week. Escalera, a sophomore from Sahaurita, Arizona, won his second straight tournament with a four under 212 that had him tied for first which forced a playoff. Escalera went on to drain a 15-foot birdie on the playoff hole to win the tournament.

Escalera has won three tournaments in a row to start the fall season for the Broncos.
