Woman killed in Howard County crash
HOWARD COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near St. Paul Wednesday.
It happened around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 11.
According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, preliminary investigation shows that a Dodge Ram ProMaster van was traveling southbound on Hwy 11 when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck an eastbound Jeep traveling on Hwy 92.
The driver of the Jeep, 60-year-old Mary Wortman of Tekamah, was transported to the hospital, where she died. The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old man from Texas, was also taken to the hospital in St. Paul with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by St. Paul, Elba and Dannebrog Fire and Rescue, along with the Nebraska State Patrol and the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
