Clearing out for the weekend
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Active showers in Kansas and Southeast Nebraska will diminish late evening and overnight, followed by gradually clearing skies. With light winds in place areas of patchy fog is expected to develop and linger into early Saturday over portions of Southern Nebraska and Northern Kansas. Once the fog burns off skies will be mostly sunny with winds remaining northerly 5 to 10 mph as a weak trough slides south.
A pop up shower could occur in the southeast corner of the state and drift south but most locations will be dry . Highs will climb into the upper 70s to near 80s.
Mild weather will continue through the remainder of the weekend with upper 70s and lower 80s continuing under sun drenched skies. An upper level high pressure ridge will build north into Nebraska warming our temperatures into the mid and upper 80s through Tuesday with slightly cooler readings the rest of the week. A series of disturbances will bring small precipitation chances during the evenings of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by a stronger wave that could bring more widespread thunderstorms by the end of the week.
