The YMCA brings Husker volleyball players to Hastings
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Less than 24 hours after the Huskers beat Indiana on the road, some of the volleyball players came down to Hastings to be a part of the YMCA’s Nebraska Volleyball Camp.
Lexi Rodriguez, Ally Batenhorst, and Kennedi Orr helped all the campers that participated with these fundamentals, college-level drills, and the opportunity to indirectly reach the next generation of volleyball players.
“We get so much support from Huskers Nation. That’s a huge reason why we play here in Nebraska: to play in front of those people, and with so much support, it’s so much fun, and it’s so nice to get back to be able to talk to these people one-on-one and get the opportunity to know them,” Alley Batenhorst said.
“Knowing that I was once a little girl who admired those players, even the players that I see now like Justine Jordan, when I was younger, I really idolized them, so I know how big of an impact that someone can have on someone,” Lexi Rodriguez said.
The players finished off their day with a meet and greet at Rivals Sports Bar, giving the young fans a chance to get their autographs.
