GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Grand Island Police is investigating a theft at St. Paul’s Christian Child Care.

The facility is located at 1515 S. Harrison Street.

GIPD said officers spoke with with staff members from St. Paul’s Cornerstone Early Learning Center at the police department on Monday. It was reported that in excess of $150,000 had been stolen.

Grand Island police said they were investigating one of the center’s employees, but did not confirm that person’s identity. Police said the employee was not following the center’s protocols for finances. They said the bookkeeping and spending patterns were suspicious and investigators were trying to determine where the money went.

The center’s website listed Andrew Moss as its director. A St. Paul’s Lutheran Church spokesperson verified that Moss is no longer employed at the center.

This is an open and active investigation.
