Adams Central football uses Halloween practice to continue playoff prep
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Adams Central football is 9-1 on the season and the No. 6 seed in the Class C1 playoff bracket. The Patriots are coming off a 9-7 win over Aurora in the first round last Friday.
That result has set up a date with third-ranked Ashland-Greenwood in the quarterfinals. Adams Central coach Josh Lewis is confident in his guys.
“We feel like we’ll go compete with anybody,” Lewis said. “We said at the very beginning of the season that we want to play the best. They’re one of the names that have come up quite a few times, so let’s go battle. When you get to this point, the hay is in the barn. You are who you are and you put your plan in place, come out and try to execute well.”
Senior Nick Conant, who scored the team’s only touchdown in the win over the Huskies, echoed the sentiment.
“We just need to be a better version of ourselves and it’s not an impossible thing to do,” Conant said. “I think we are overall confident that we’ll be able to compete.”
