Tri-City area athletes sign National Letter of Intent
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Multiple schools in the Tri-City area held a National Letter of Intent signing ceremony as the initial signing window opened Wednesday.
Featured in the above video include ceremonies at Grand Island Senior High, Hastings High and Central City.
Grand Island signees:
Ethan Foley, baseball, Coffeyville Community College
Jaylen Hansen, volleyball, Concordia
“Right away just talking to the coaches and getting to know how close their team was, it just seemed like more of a family. Seeing all of the support and everything, it just added to the excitement already.”
Haedyn Hoos, volleyball, UNK
“I’ve been waiting for this day just to make it official. I’ve always wanted to play at UNK. They’re very close to home, so that always was super nice and the fact that they are just so good. They’ve had a good year. I wanted to be on a team that was high-level and that could compete.”
Jaxson Nesvara, baseball, Dordt
“It felt like it was a family down there right when I stepped on campus. It felt like, even though I’m going to be four hours away from home, I’m still going to be home, so it just felt like a great fit for me there. It felt perfect for what I want to do on a baseball field and it felt great.”
Hastings signees:
Lainey Benson, volleyball, Hastings College
“Volleyball has just always been a part of me. I’ve been playing since I was eight. It’s my favorite sport and I just love that I’m going to be able to continue it. I just made a lot of really good friends with the younger girls and they’re all just super excited to come watch. I’m right down the street, I guess, so they’re super excited to hopefully come and see a game.”
Lexi Benson, women’s tennis, Hastings College
Ethan Crecelius, men’s bowling, Peru State
Conner George, men’s tennis, Hastings College
Alex Hafer, men’s tennis, Hastings College
