Hastings boys basketball ready for challenges of new conference
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings boys basketball team came off a 10-14 year last year, but with the Tigers joining a new conference and a lot of players returning, Hastings has a lot of optimism for this upcoming season.
“It is always nice when you have returners coming back. These guys are playing a lot of basketball, and they started a lot of games. You know it’s definitely easier to get the season going when you have that experience, and it still comes down to leadership and missing as a group playing the game the right way and playing together,” head coach Drew Danielson said.
The Tigers will join the Eastern Midlands Conference this year, setting themselves up to position themselves high in the Class B rankings.
“Chemistry is definitely great this summer. Spending those days together at those tournaments has really helped us. We all really know each other very well, and that is going to translate to the court,” Tigers forward Caden Block said.
Hastings season begins on Nov. 30 against Seward.
