Hastings girls basketball seeks improvement in Vanderpool’s second year
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Hastings girls basketball team looks to improve on a rebuilding year last year.
Coach Liz Vanderpool, in her second year as head coach, is optimistic about how her group of girls can perform this year.
“I think making sure that we just improve the overall hope is to win more basketball games, and I think we have the potential to get to the district finals this year, but we cannot forget those fundamentals that we really need,” Coach Vanderpool said.
The Tigers only lost two seniors last year, bringing a lot of experience to this year’s team.
“I think everyone needs to understand the different roles, and once they do, it will be totally fine. I think the underclassmen are going to help us a lot. I think the upperclassman is going to help us a lot, and I’m just overall very excited for this season,” Tigers forward Emma Landgren said.
Hastings season begins on Nov. 30 against Seward.
