GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - Two central Nebraska law enforcement agencies will be keeping a closer eye on seat belt usage as we inch closer to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Both the Grand Island Police Department and Hall County Sheriff’s Office were awarded grant funds for a special Buckle Up, Every Trip, Every Time mobilization program. It runs from Nov. 22-26.

Grand Island Police was granted $4,936.48 to implement the selective overtime enforcement while the Hall County Sheriff’s Department received $3,171.68.

This enforcement will target seat belt usage to help reduce deadly and serious injury crashes in Nebraska.
