SEM wins first football state championship in school history

KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - S.E.M. puts their undefeated record on the line in the six-man state championship game against Hay Springs.
The defense controlled the game throughout the beginning, but the Mustangs took a 14-6 lead at the half.
In the second half, Hay Springs started a comeback, trailing S.E.M. by one as time expired, but the Mustangs special teams came in clutch with Ryan Arbuthnot’s block kick, and S.E.M. won their first ever football state championship 21-20.
