HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Rain will start to move in from the southwest after midnight. The good news is that there shouldn’t be much, if any, wintry weather. We could see a fairly prolonged precipitation event for some as rain could last from Sunday all the way to Monday evening. On Sunday, rain favors central and eastern areas, which will keep highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Out west, it may not be quite as chilly on Sunday. Highs out west could still get to the mid to upper 50s. Rain looks to spread west and cover more of the area Sunday night into Monday, although it may lighten up some with time. Highs on Monday will mostly be in the mid to upper 40s. This could be a rather wet period and some places may get up to around a half inch to a little over an inch of rain. There’s even a shot for some to get a little more than that.

The weather will dry out for the pre-Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving time frame, which will mean that there should not be any travel hazards. Tuesday will be a chilly and blustery day through. Look for highs in the mid to upper 40s and low to mid 50s with the warmer 50s in the southwest. Highs will be slightly warmer on Wednesday with the wind not as strong. We’ll see increasing clouds as the next shot of colder air pushes south on Thanksgiving Thursday. Highs on Thanksgiving look to be between the mid 30s and the mid 40s. Following Thanksgiving, even colder air and a shot at some snow will be possible Friday and Friday night. At this time, this does not look to be a major snow event, but it could still be something that creates some travel headaches on Black Friday. The rest of next weekend looks to remain cold and dry.
