HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - The Adams Central girls’ basketball team was one win away from becoming state champions last year. They have the same aspirations to make it back again this year, but while losing some length, this year’s team has to reinvent themselves.

“The length of time we’ve been playing with, we don’t have any more, so we’re going to change things and play a little faster than usual and try to pick up the pace of the game, and I’m excited for the challenge because it’s going to be fun,” head coach Evan Smith said.

Both players and coaches are excited for the challenge this year to make it back to the States.

“I think we have a good group of seniors; just in general, there’s like five of us, and we’ve been playing together for a long time, so I think one more chance to play together and have fun just like we have since we were like 10,” Patriots senior forward Megyn Scott said.

Adams Central begins their season on Nov. 30 on the road against Aurora.
