HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Democrat Senate candidate Preston Love Jr. made stops in all three of the Tri-Cities Monday.

As a part of his “Love Nebraska Listening Tour,” Love visited Arts and Drafts in Grand Island, Blue Moon Coffee Shop in Hastings, and Thunderhead Brewing in Kearney to speak about his campaign.

Members from the Democrats of Adams County were there to show their support and there were even a few Republicans in the room, which Love said is something that is helping him hear from all sides.

“In each one of these meetings, I’m not just talking to Democrats…. I’m talking to Independents and Republicans, so I’m getting a full range of feelings and input,” Love said.

After a brief introduction, Love shared where he stands on certain political issues. He discussed his support for women’s reproductive health rights and social security, and said he believes in climate change.

While he is running as Democrat, he said his campaign is about more than just a political party.

“Each side wants to win that they’ve forgotten about the solution. So the most important thing in my campaign is to be a candidate, yes, but to be a senator that will bridge those gaps and work on solutions,” Love said.

Love is a Nebraska native who played football at The University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

He’s traveling over 1,000 miles on his tour across the state. Stops for Tuesday include Lexington and North Platte.
