Kyle Gillett is originally from Michigan and is attending Central Michigan University for a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology. Kyle has also worked as a student weather specialist at CMU’s student-run news station, News Central as well as a freelance on-air meteorologist for WLNS in Lansing, Michigan.

Kyle is a certified SkyWarn Storm Spotter by the National Weather Service, a storm chaser, weather photographer and quite the "weather nerd." His niche in the world of meteorology is severe weather, specially forecasting environments favorable to producing rotating thunderstorms called ‘supercells’ and tornadoes. Kyle also is interested in weather’s impact on Great Lakes shipping disasters such as the November 1975 wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior.

He has a passion for informing viewers with what they need to know to be prepared and safe during hazardous weather and is happy to provide the good news too, whenever it may come around.

Kyle is happy to enjoy his summer on the Nebraska plains, despite the heat, as he loves the big sky and the rolling prairies, and of course, the thunderstorm activity.
