Travis Klanecky joined the Local4 weather team in June of 2008.
Travis is a St. Paul native and a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology/Climatology.
While in college, he was an intern at 10/11 News in Lincoln. After graduating, he moved on to become the morning meteorologist at KDLT in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After a year in Sioux Falls, Travis and his wife moved back to Central Nebraska to be closer to family and friends.
Travis' interest in weather began at a very young age. When he was two, St. Paul was struck by a tornado. His favorite aspect of meteorology is severe weather. During the severe weather season, he occasionally makes it out into the field to chase storms, hoping to bring that video back to viewers watching at home.
Travis enjoys presenting his forecast to the people of Central Nebraska. He says, "because I grew up here, I have a great understanding of how the weather works in the Central Plains. Having a career that I love makes those early mornings so much easier to handle."
Travis enjoys spending his free time with wife and two kids. He's a faithful fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the New England Patriots.
Travis' faith is also very important to him. He is a member and elder at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Doniphan.
Finally, he says "I am so humbled by all the support I get from the wonderful viewers across Nebraska. If it wasn't for all of you, I wouldn't even have a job that I love to do every day. Thank you so much for watching."
