Weeknights 5, 6, 10 p.m.
Sarah Jenkins joined the Local4 news team in October 2017. Sarah is originally from outside the Washington, D.C. area.
After earning her Communications/Political Science degree at Arizona State University, Sarah interned at Tempe, AZ NPR affiliate KJZZ 91.5. She then went on the Anchor, Report, and Co-Host a morning show in Laughlin, NV. It was there that she got her feet wet (literally, along the banks of the Colorado River) as a “One-Woman-Band’; and she embraced the challenge.
Growing up minutes from the nation’s capital, where politics and current events are an ever-present topic of discussion, Sarah knew she wanted to pursue Journalism from a young age. She always loved the craft of storytelling, and used to write, direct and stage plays for her sisters to act in (not bossy at all). She later honed her skills as editor for her nationally-ranked high school newspaper.
When Sarah is not anchoring the 5, 6 and 10 p.m. weeknight newscasts, you can find her cooking, practicing yoga, or trying a new fitness class. She is also passionate about traveling. Her favorite places include Hong Kong, Barcelona, and Oahu, Hawaii.
In September 2017, Sarah got married exactly two weeks before she started at Local4 News and thanks her incredible husband for always being so supportive as she pursues her dreams.
