ADAMS COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - Authorities responded to 3-vehicle accident early Tuesday morning, just east of Hastings.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said it happened between 5:45 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Deputy Steven Laird said a vehicle was heading west on Highway 6 and was trying to turn left onto South Maxon. A second vehicle was stopped behind that one when a third vehicle pulled up, rear-ending the second car. That caused a chain reaction leading to the first car being rear-ended as well.

One woman was taken to the hospital for what are believed to minor injuries.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts.

Traffic was stopped heading east on Hwy 6, but has since returned to normal.

The deputy said a lack of attentiveness is likely the cause.
